With her new drama "Gimme Shelter" set to hit theaters tomorrow (January 24th), Vanessa Hudgens pitched in on promotions by covering the February 2014 issue of NYLON magazine.

While rocking designer duds from Armani Exchange and Moschino for the Aaron Richter-shot spread, the 25-year-old actress opened up about her recent onscreen transformation and shared thoughts about her haters.

Check out GossipCenter's recap of Miss Hudgens' interview below. For more, be sure to pay a visit to NYLON!

On her role choices:
"I don't think it's 'good girl gone bad.' I think it's more 'girl growing into a woman and being passionate and taking choices.' I have so much work to do, and I think I will always feel that way. [During 'Gimme Shelter'] I loved looking into the mirror and seeing myself with short hair and bad skin and tattoos. The uglier I could make myself, the more giggly I would get on the inside."

On her public image:
"You hear what you want to hear. If you're not into something, be open about it. If you don't like me, I don't care."

On "Gimme Shelter":
"It was the first time I really stepped out of my control zone, physically and material-wise. I'm a little afraid of myself when I watch it."

On her love for cardio workouts:
"I've considered signing up to be an instructor, but not in a f*** acting way. Just because it's fun. But I don't think my manager would like it."

On her future plans:
"I know God's plan for me is bigger than anything I could ever plan for myself. It allows me to not worry about the future or what other people think and just to be present and enjoy and try to shine as much as I can."
