Jimmy Fallon Kicks Off His Reign on “The Tonight Show” With Charming Monologue: Watch Here!
It was a huge night for Jimmy Fallon on Monday (February 17) as he began his tenure as the host of “The Tonight Show” on NBC.
The former “Late Night” honcho was joined by his legendary Roots crew as he took the stage and delivered his opening monologue to an enthusiastic NYC studio audience.
Jimmy began, “I’ll be your host for now,” while also thanking those who came before him- “Steve Allen, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and Jay Leno.”
Fallon also joked, “If you would have told me as a kid that I would graduate high school and go on to be on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and eventually be the host of ‘The Tonight Show,’ I would have said, ‘I graduated high school? That’s so not me. That’s so not like me.’”
He even brought in a family connection- “My parents are still here with us. They’re here tonight. They’re here to see me. Mom and Dad, I love you. Jim and Gloria Fallon, I wish I could have gotten you better seats, but you know it’s a very hot show, Dad, very hot show.”
