Tom Hiddleston Scores Hank Williams Biopic Role
Adding another impressive credit to his resume, Tom Hiddleston is set to star as Hank Williams in an upcoming biopic.
According to Deadline, the “Avengers” star signed on for the Marc Abraham-directed flick “I Saw The Light,” which is chronicles the iconic country star's life.
It will delve into the singers rise to fame and his tragic death at the young age of 29. Hiddleston will sing Hank's classic songs including “Your Cheatin’ Heart” and “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry.”
Choosing a Britt actor to portray Alabama’s “Hillbilly Shakespeare” may seem a bit odd, but based on Tom’s diverse movie roles in genres of hipster-vamp rock, pirate sea shanties and vehicular karaoke, he’s almost guaranteed to nail a country twang role.
