The latest controversy in the Cruise/Holmes divorce saga comes from a claim made by Marty Rathbun, a former high-ranking Scientologist, that Church leader David Miscavige was making the quick decisions on the "Top Gun" star's end of the divorce to avoid bringing more attention to the practices of the controversial church.

The "Mission Impossible" star's attorney, Bert Fields, refuted the claim, stating "The Church of Scientology played absolutely no role in the divorce settlement talks at all." The allegation seems to have bristled the action star's attorney who continued "The mere suggestion that the Church was involved in any element of the talks and ultimate settlement is categorically false. Anyone suggesting otherwise is just wrong."

The Times reported that though the settlement terms are private, Katie Holmes will get primary custody of daughter Suri Cruise.
