Taking a break from the gridiron, Tim Tebow and Cam Newton scored two separate covers for the "NFL Kick-Off" September 2012 issue of GQ magazine.

The 25-year-old New York Jets quarterback looked casual in a cut-off Calvin Klein tee-shirt for the Mark Seliger shoot while the 23-year-old Carolina Panthers quarterback cleaned up in a Tommy Hilfiger sports jacket and Giorgio Armani shirt for the Peggy Sirota helmed pictorial while opening up about life on and off the field.

Highlights from Cam and Tim's interviews are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to GQ!

Cam Newton

On his father:
"He was like my superhero, if something was broke, he could fix it. If I was lost somewhere, he would find me. If I was crying, he could cure it. I knew that if I had my father with me, everything was going to be all right."

On working with Tim Tebow:
"If I had said to Tim, 'Man, can we spend some extra time to study the playbook?' he would have done it. I didn't take advantage of what was right in front of me. If I had, maybe his mentality would have hit me sooner. Basically, I was immature and unfocused. I would never, ever make that mistake again."

On being humble:
"If I come out and say, 'I will be the greatest to ever play this game,' that's a no-no. If I come out and say, 'I will not be stopped this year,' that's a no-no. People want to see humble."

On playing for the Jets:
"I think if they're a Jets fan, hopefully they'll be rooting for me. I'll do whatever I can to help this team win football games. I'll give my heart and soul whenever I step on that field and even when I'm on the sidelines. And at the end of the day, that's really all you can ask of someone."
