"Thor: The Dark World" Already Dominating the Box Office
Living up to the massive hype, "Thor: The Dark World" grossed a strong $7.1 million on its opening night (November 7) in North America.
The action-packed Marvel superhero film already earned more than $150 million overseas and now North America gets to witness the film along with other countries including China.
While the first "Thor" managed to rake in $65.7 million in its first weekend in May 2011, the sequel hopes to score $90 million at the box office this weekend.
The film takes place a year after the event of "The Avengers" as Thor [ Chris Hemsworth] reunites with his love interest Jane Foster [ Natalie Portman] in a new adventure as he tries to save his plant Asgard from a new enemy. Thor also forms an alliance with his bad boy brother Loki [ Tom Hiddleston].
