Box Office: "Thor:The Dark World" Hangs on to Nab Top Spot
It thundered its way on to the big screen last week with such gusto that nobody could catch it, but "Thor: The Dark World" had some competition this week, but still managed to pull out a win at the box office for the weekend of November 15-17, 2013.
The Chris Hemsworth fronted action film nabbed $10.5 million on Friday and garnered a $34.9 million 3 day total, which brought its two week take up to $143.5 million.
Challenging "Thor" for the top spot was the newcomer "The Best Man Holiday," which took in $12.5 million on Friday and finished off the weekend with $34 million.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings were the comedy "Last Vegas" ($7.9 million) in third, Relativity's animated flick "Free Birds" ($7.5 million) in fourth and Jackass Presents: "Bad Grandpa" ($7.2 million) in fifth
