German Church: Not A Big Tom Cruise Fan

With Scientology’s controversial beliefs and practices, it’s no wonder that traditional, reformed theological parties have a problem with it’s followers. For Tom Cruise, his position in the Church of Scientology has led to some pretty harsh criticism from one German church.

The German Protestant Church has called cruise the “Goebbels of Scientology”. The tag makes reference to Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, and claims that Cruise will be just as destructive as the Third Reich leader.

Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire have been on a whirlwind tour, continent hopping to promote the widely anticipated release of 'Spider-Man 3'. Now back in the States, the movie made its US premiere in Astoria, Queens on Monday night during the Tribeca Film Festival.

Dunst and Maguire, along with James Franco, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas Howard and Thomas Haden Church, first stopped by The Today Show on Monday morning to promote their latest superhero flick. From there, the crew made their way to the Tribeca Film Festival screening.
