Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin Reunite for “Grace and Frankie”
They had some stellar chemistry in the 1980 film “9 to 5” and now Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are joining forces for a new Netflix series.
The “Barbarella” babe and the “I Heart Huckabees” star have both signed on for the 13-episode project created by Marta Kauffman, one of the creative forces behind “Friends.”
Per the synopsis, “Grace and Frankie centers on nemeses Grace and Frankie, whose lives are turned upside down when their husbands announce they are in love with each other and plan to get married. The women, much to their own dismay, find that their lives are permanently intertwined and, much to their surprise, they find they have each other.”
Netflix honcho Ted Sarandos told press, "Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are among the funniest and most formidable actresses ever and it's an incredible privilege to give them the opportunity to run riot on Netflix. The show created for them by Marta and Howard is warm, very funny and anything but wholesome. We can't wait."
