HBO Show "Luck" Axed After Third Horse's Death
Production for the HBO show was supposed to last another eight months, but the cast and crew were told today the series - which began airing in January - has been axed.
The executive producers released a statement regarding the decision, saying, "While we maintained the highest safety standards possible, accidents unfortunately happen and it is impossible to guarantee they won't in the future. Accordingly, we have reached this difficult decision."
Earlier this week, a horse was euthanized during filming for the second season after it was seriously injured from falling and two other horses died after injuries from races in the first season.
The show is still in it's first season, as two more installments are left to air, and it remains to be seen if the episodes already recorded for the second season will be broadcasted.
