Drew Carey & Craig Ferguson Pull an April Fool’s Prank on Respective Audiences
They love a good laugh, and Drew Carey and Craig Ferguson traded places on April 1st in honor of April Fool’s Day.
Usually stationed at “The Late Late Show,” Ferguson took over Carey’s post at “The Price is Right,” and immediately recognized his personality wasn’t suited for the gig.
Craig explained to The Hollywood Reporter, "You've just got to show up in a good mood. That was the hardest part for me. See, Drew likes people. I’m a cranky loner. It’s not so good for me. I will be in a bath of Purell for two days now."
“The Price Is Right” executive producer Mike Richards added, "This show is so hard to host. Drew makes it looks easy. He's very into hosting the show the way you want to host it, because he came in and hosted it the way he wanted to host it."
Furthermore, Ferguson will be hosting “The Celebrity Name Game” in the fall, so the switch-up gave him a chance to see what it takes. "I’m going to have to start [to get in shape] again -- like Drew. Maybe it’s because it’s new, but it feels quite taxing, more taxing than I thought it was going to be, and more than running my own show."
