Kicking off the week with some great news, Showtime announced “Nurse Jackie” will stick around for at least one more season.

Lionsgate TV Group chairman Kevin Beggs stated, “We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with [executive producer/showrunner] Clyde Phillips, a creative powerhouse who has reinvigorated the Nurse Jackie series and who is also a prolific developer of television series in the auteur television arena.”

“His expertise in comedy and drama makes him a rare showrunner/creator and we are lucky to have him in the Lionsgate family.”

The hit show, starring Edie Falco, will premiere Season Six on April 13th, and filming for Season Seven will commence this fall.

Meanwhile, Season Five saw a 14% boost in ratings with an average weekly viewership of 3.13 million.
