Showing good sportsmanship in welcoming his new rival, Stephen Colbert addressed Jimmy Fallon's takeover of "The Tonight Show" on Tuesday (February 18).

After appearing on his debut the night before, the Comedy Central host told his audience, " Ladies and gentlemen, before we begin, I want to begin by welcoming my friend Jimmy Fallon to the 11:30 time slot and the brotherhood of shows that includes me, David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel and the repeat of 'Shahs of Sunset' on Bravo. We all get together on weekends and Reza braids Dave's hair."

Next, Stephen supported his pal by encouraging viewers to watch "The Tonight Show" when "The Colbert Report" is off-air on Fridays.

Sharing the selfie he snapped while visiting Jimmy, the confident comedian concluded, "So congratulations, Jimmy, welcome to 11:30. I'm sure it's a relief to escape the barren … 12:30 death slot."
