Metta World Peace: From Basketball To The Big Screen
To professional basketball player to ballroom dancer to actor?
Adding another title to his resume, Metta World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, is preparing to make his acting debut in an upcoming Lifetime movie.
The Los Angeles Lakers star will play a police detective in "The Eleventh Victim" which is based on Nancy Grace’s crime novel that was loosely inspired by her life.
The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant will be joined by Jennie Garth who will play a District Attorney while they try to bring justice upon a serial killer.
Even though World Peace was first to be eliminated from "DWTS" last fall, he became close to Grace who was also a contestant on the dancing competition show.
Talking about the upcoming flick, Grace admitted to TV Guide Magazine, “I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness. Metta World Peace was my first pick".
