"Silver Linings Playbook" Stars Hold Tribeca Teaches Benefit
Bringing one of his own films to his hometown, Robert De Niro hosted the premiere of "Silver Linings Playbook" for the Tribeca Teaches Benefit at the Ziegfeld Theatre in the Big Apple on Monday (November 12).
Joining the acting great at the event were the movie's co-stars including the always suave Bradley Cooper, as well as Anthony Mackie, Chris Tucker, and Julia Stiles.
Talking with GossipCenter at the event, Cooper dished about his recent experience filming in the City of Brotherly Love. Of this, the big screen heartthrob said, "Robert [DeNiro] had my uncle read the script out loud so he could get the accent," adding, "Jackie Weaver hung out with my mother a lot. 'Limitless' was shot in Philly for New York, this was a great chance to shoot in Philly for Philly and that meant all the colloquialisms that come along with it and the behavior and the people, and the neighborhoods. I felt very close to home."
Opening in theaters on November 21st, Bradley's dramedy follows former teacher Pat Solitano, who moves back in with his parents after a stint in a mental institution. He tries reconcile with his ex-wife, but things get complicated when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own.
As for the event, Tribeca Teaches Benefit is held in support of the Tribeca Film Institute, which empowers filmmakers through grants and professional development, and is a resource for and supporter of individual artists in the field.
