She’s been working overtime promoting her various career pursuits, and it seems the heavy workload has taken its toll on Selena Gomez.

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” babe has been forced to cancel her gig at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus, Ohio this Thursday due to strained vocal chords.

A press source stated Selena "has been ordered by her physician to rest her voice and not travel for a week.”

Earlier this week, she tweeted, "This sucks ... My throat is sick. I'm not, my throat is. Ugh. Used my laptop to type at dinner since I can't talk ... That was interesting."

As for her buddy Justin Bieber, Selena told George Lopez, "I love him. He's like my little brother. I like to say his name on stage because if I'm performing badly, I say his name and the audience will cheer."
