Rita Moreno on her SAG Lifetime Achievement Award: "I'm so F---ing Thrilled!"
She may be 82-years-old, but Rita Moreno showed she's still full of spunk at Saturday's SAG Awards (January 18).
The "West Side Story" star accepted the annual Lifetime Achievement Award that evening and was thrilled with the honor.
Upon taking the stage, the EGOT recipient blurted out, "I'm so F--king thrilled. I hope the man with the button was there on time."
Reflecting on her long career, Rita shared, "Oh, I'm breathless I'm so bloody happy. Late in the first act of my career, I was recognized with an Oscar. I was 31 and so astonished and surprised…I could only muster 'I couldn't believe it. I'll leave you with that.' And now this unexpected honor at 82, but hopefully it's early in the third act of my life."
In conclusion, she quoted Tony Bennett's "This is All I Ask," saying, "The truth is I honestly still can't believe it. So let me say this, as I approach the prime of my life, I find I have the time of my life, learning to enjoy at my leisure all the simple pleasures and so I happily concede. This is all I ask. This is all I need."
