Ready for what's set to be an eventful evening, Glenn Close turned up as planned for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 29).

The 64-year-old Hollywood veteran worked the red carpet at the Shrine Exposition Center venue before hitting the entrance ahead of the annual Tinseltown celebration of cinema.

Not just a mere spectator, Miss Close happens to have the important task of presenting an award, with fellow trophy passer-outers including George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Brad Pitt, Zoe Saldana and Natalie Portman.

Hoping for a big win for her role in "Albert Nobbs," Glenn is up for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role while facing off against Michelle Williams, Viola Davis, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton.

With the ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS beginning at 8 p.m. (ET), the night will also see Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild’s 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.
