He's known for his comedic talent and his high-profile divorce from Katy Perry, but Russell Brand is now fired up and speaking out about his dissatisfaction with democracy.

In an interview on BBC's "Newsnight" on Wednesday (October 23), the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star admits he doesn't vote, but not because of apathy.

Defending his inaction, he explains, "I'm not voting out of absolute indifference and weariness and exhaustion from the lies, treachery, deceit of the political class that has been going on for generations now. And which has now reached fever pitch where you have a disenfranchised, disillusioned, despondent underclass that is not being represented by that political system."

Asked if he sees any hope, Russell admitted, "Yea, there's gonna be a revolution. It's totally going to happen. I ain't got a flicker of doubt. This is the end. This is time to wake up."
