Russell Brand Cancels Gigs to Spend Time with Mother after Breast Cancer Diagnosis
For most, family comes first and that is definitely the case for Russell Brand.
After learning that his momma Barbara contracted breast cancer again, the British comedian canceled several of his upcoming Messiah Complex gigs to spend time with her.
"Sorry to eff you around with gigs," Brand tweeted. "My mum ain't well. Tix will be honoured or refunded."
In addition, the Warwick Arts Centre released a statement on Thursday (March 6) to announce the news.
"Russell Brand has taken the difficult decision to postpone tonight's show at Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry due to personal reasons.” The show will be rescheduled by April 19.
According to a report in The Mirror, Russell’s mother battled uterine cancer and contracted breast cancer one year later. Brand was eight years old at the time of the first cancel diagnosis.
