Report: Russell Brand Arrested in New Orleans
Hours after reports emerged that a warrant had been issued, Russell Brand has been arrested by legal authorities in New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to TMZ, the 36-year-old English actor turned himself in on Thursday afternoon (March 15) and remains in police custody.
Prior to surrendering to local police, Russell was photographed arriving to the set of the untitled Diablo Cody film in which he stars, which is the reason that he's in the Big Easy.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Brand's warrant stemmed from accusations that he took a paparazzo's cell phone and threw it through the window of a nearby law office.
After the incident, he tweeted, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."
