“Little People, Big World’s” Matt and Amy Roloff Split
They survived 26 years of marriage and a long-running reality series together, but unfortunately Matt and Amy Roloff have decided to call it quits.
The “Little People, Big World” stars confirmed the split to People magazine on Wednesday (March 12) and stated, “Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation.”
“Matt remains living on the farm in our guest house and we work together every day on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children,” they added.
In TLC’s clip titled “Trial Separation,” Matt admits he’s living in the guest house on the family farm and reveals he and his estranged wife began having troubles around Thanksgiving.
“Amy and I stuck it out for years when maybe we shouldn’t have,” Mr. Roloff explained. “I never quite felt at home in my own home. Something needed to change. We needed to try something different.”
Amy also noted, “We don’t have a plan for how we’re gonna work this out. It’s not going to be easy.”
After reports of the couple’s problems surfaced last December, the network revealed in a statement, “Both have trouble keeping their emotions in check. Barbs are thrown from both sides and there is plenty of hurt to go around. Both Matt and Amy express their determination to work together to work things out, but the reality may be that they have reached the end.”
