Box Office: "Ride Along" Bumps "Lone Survivor" from Top Spot
Action reigns at the box office for the weekend of January 17-19, 2013, as newcomer "Ride Along" stole the show from last week's number one "Lone Survivor."
The action comedy, which stars Ice Cube and Kevin Heart, took in $14.5 million on Friday, and is cruised to a three day total of $42.1 million.
After spending last week on top, "Lone Survivor," Mark Wahlberg drama about the failed Operation Red Wings scored $6.6 million on Friday and ended up with a $23.2 million weekend.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the animated comedy, "The Nut Job" ($20.5 million) in third, Chris Pine's new flick "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" ($16.5 million) in fourth, and Disney's "Frozen" ($11.8 million) coming in in fifth.
