Box Office: "Ride Along" Grabs the Top Spot for Third Week
Fighting off a newcomer, "Ride Along" made it three in a row on the top of the box office for the weekend of January 31-February 2, 2014.
The action comedy, which stars Ice Cube and Kevin Heart, took in $4 million on Friday, and nabbed a three day total of $12.3 million.
Putting in a good showing on its first weekend in theaters, the romantic comedy "That Awkward Moment" landed in the second spot, with a Friday take of $3.95 million and a weekend total of $9 million.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are Disney's animated blockbuster "Frozen" ($9 million) in third, the animated comedy "The Nut Job" ($7.4 million) in fourth and "Lone Survivor," Mark Wahlberg's drama about the failed Operation Red Wings ($7 million) in fifth.
