Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's "Grindhouse" is being touted in ads as "the movie event of the year."

Quentin Tarantino Movie Almost Didn’t Happen

Posted Tuesday April 3, 2007 4:11 PM GMT

For fans of Kill Bill, Sin City, and Pulp Fiction, you’re in for a treat. Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez have teamed up to make “Grindhouse”. The film opens Friday, and promises to be really really cool. However, the film had some drama in it’s making.

Production of Grindhouse ground to a halt last year when Rodriguez fell for his leading lady, Rose McGowan. To make matters worse, Rodriguez’s wife, Elizabeth Avellan, the mother of his five kids, found out. Ouch.
