Lionsgate Announces Solution for Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Unfinished “Hunger Games” Scenes
He played Plutarch Heavensbee in the popular “The Hunger Games” movie franchise, and with the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, things have become complicated for the Lionsgate studio.
The tragic demise of Hoffman occurred before he’d finished filming his scenes for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2,” forcing the producers to majorly improvise.
However, special effects supervisor Rob Legato has decided to digitally recreate PSH’s likeness for the remaining shoots.
Legato told The Hollywood Reporter, "These days the technology of using someone's likeness is a whole lot easier to do. I won't say you could generate a Philip Seymour Hoffman with all the acting ability, but you could certainly replicate him for a shot or two."
Meanwhile, costar Elizabeth Banks shared her grief over Philip’s passing- "I really am in shock. He is an absolutely amazing actor, respected by everyone and part of our family at The Hunger Games."
