Restaurant That Fueled Paula Deen’s Racism Fire Shuts Down
For those of you that though the Paula Deen-drama was over, think again. The restaurant that kicked off the chef’s racism scandal suddenly closed its doors for good on Thursday (April 3).
Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House in Savannah, Georgia announced that it was closing this afternoon in a short Facebook post.
Paula’s brother Bubba Hiers owned the establishment, and someone from his staff took to the social media site to write, “Thank you for 10 great years. Uncle Bubba’s is now closed.”
According to reports, the restaurant’s employees were not previously notified of the shutdown.
As for Uncle Bubba’s involvement in the former Food Network star’s legal drama, a former general manager of the establishment first announced that Paula used the N-word during her deposition.
