Paula Deen’s New N-Word Apology
She’s on her way to a major career comeback following last year’s racist allegations and Paula Deen wants to set the record straight.
The southern-fried celebrity chef showed up at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival over the weekend, noting that she’s truly sorry for any pain she caused with her careless words from a few decades ago.
Paula explained, “We have come off of a very hard summer my family and I, my team, my partners. But you know, I have heard on more than one occasion … that I’ve never apologized. So if anybody did not hear me apologize, I would like to apologize to those who did not hear me.”
After the crowd declared that she had nothing for which to apologize, Deen added, “Ya’ll’s cards and letters that I got helped me get out of bed every day. I am not a quitter.”
From there, former colleague Robert Irvine offered some advice- “This is a warning to you. You’ve apologized. You’ve eaten crow. You’re done. Don’t do it anymore.”
