One Direction Talks New Album: “We’ve All Taken A Hand In the Writing This Time”
They can top the charts like it’s nobody’s business, but rather than rest on their laurels, the guys in One Direction are trying something new.
During their interview on “Today” this morning (August 13), Niall, Harry, Zayn, Louis and Liam chatted with Carson Daly about their forthcoming fourth record.
Niall explained, “I think it’s going to be a little bit more edgy. But obviously we feel like we’ve got some really good songs and we are happy.”
“We’ve all taken a hand in the writing this time. And we’ve literally written almost every song,” added Liam.
Of their massive career success after just four years together, Niall noted, “We have moments, especially on this tour when you step out to these amazing stadiums and stuff, we end up spending the first 20 minutes just standing there looking at each other going ‘wow look where we are.’ It’s just unbelievable what’s happened.”
Liam also chimed in, “I remember I sat watching the Super Bowl thinking, ‘How are we going to get on stage and play to that many people?’ It’s amazing, but our fans are so amazing every single night and it’s nice to play to a crowd that genuinely love you, it’s amazing.”
