One Direction’s “This Is Us” Scores $2.7 Million Opening Night
The fall school season is already underway, but that didn’t stop thousands of One Direction fans from going out to see their new movie “This Is Us” last night!
According to a report, “One Direction: This Is Us” nabbed an impressive $2.7 million on Thursday evening (August 29) putting it on track to be the top movie of the Labor Day holiday weekend.
And industry insiders feel strongly that 1D’s flick will bring in more than $20 million by the time Monday rolls around, making it a very successful concert documentary project.
For context, “This Is Us” did better than Adam Sandler’s “Grown Ups 2” and Jennifer Aniston & Jason Sudeikis’ “We’re the Millers” last night ($2.3 million and $1.7 million respectively).
