Derek Hough Rejoices Over Meryl Davis & Charlie White’s Ice Dancing Gold Medal
He choreographed the Ice Dancing routine for American athletes Meryl Davis and Charlie White, so it’s no wonder Derek Hough was elated when they scored the gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
Following the announcement, the “Dancing With the Stars” stud proclaimed, "I've been rooting for them the whole time. It's just unbelievable. I'm so happy for them. It couldn't have happened to two nicer people.”
"I could feel from their energy. Being so close to gold four years ago made them definitely want to bring it home this time.”
Hough added, “I'm so proud of them. I was so honored to help them and be a part of the process. It's amazing to see them performing and representing America and for me to be a part of it in a small way."
Additionally, Derek posted a photo of Davis and White to his Instagram account with the caption, “USA USA USA !!! History in the making . First Time USA has won this event in Olympic history . So proud .@CharlieaWhite & @Meryl_Davis."
