Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton To Sign On For “Nashville” Season 5

Last month, millions of fans rejoiced when the “Nashville” bosses announced the cancelled ABC series would see new life on CMT, and now two marquee stars have officially declared their commitment to the forthcoming fifth season.

Both Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere are close to signing contracts to star on the program, guaranteeing the return of Rayna James and Juliette Barnes, respectively.

According to insiders, cable network CMT is in negotiations with the producers to continue the series, following a Season Four finale cliffhanger in which Juliette Barnes’ private plane went missing.

Bosses at ABC have cancelled Hayden Panettiere's country music drama 'Nashville' hours after the actress announced she is seeking more help for postpartum depression.

The 26-year-old has been struggling with mental health issues since giving birth to her daughter Kaya in 2014, and she checked in to rehab in October after taking a leave of absence from her TV series.

She’s no stranger to television cameos, but last night (January 15) Kelly Clarkson didn’t get the star treatment she’s accustomed to while appearing on “Nashville.”

The “Since You’ve Been Gone” songstress played herself in the episode, meeting with Gunnar and Scarlett in search of some new songs for her forthcoming album.
