Sure, she may have had a (foam) hand in breaking up Robin Thicke’s marriage, but Miley Cyrus used her powers for good during last night’s 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

After she was named the winner of the Video of the Year trophy, the “Wrecking Ball” babe sent her date, a homeless guy named Jesse, up to the podium to give a speech.

The man explained, "Thank you all – my name is Jesse, and I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million homeless youth. I've survived in shelters all over. ... Though I may have been invisible to you in the streets, I have the same dreams as many of you."

Furthermore, Miley has announced a new initiative via her Facebook page- "I'm just getting started. And I want to make sure my fans are part of helping me to give back and make an impact on this issue. We all have the power to make change happen. This is about helping youth, people just like you and me have the opportunity to find their inner power and potential, no matter what their circumstances."
