Box Office: "Noah" Floods Out the Competition

Despite some pre-release controversy, "Noah" is making big waves at the box office for the weekend of March 28-30, 2014.

The Russell Crowe fronted action film, which is based on Genesis, scored an opening day of $15 million and will wind up with an impressive three day take of $45 million.

Coming as a surprise to few, "Divergent" is stealing the show at the box office for the weekend of March 21-23, 2014.

The Shailene Woodley fronted sci-fi action film scooped up a $22.8 million opening day and will wind up with a three day total of $57 million.


"Mr. Peabody and Sherman" Takes Weekend Box Office

After a second place opening weekend,"Mr. Peabody and Sherman" made the climb to number one at the box office for the weekend of March 14-16, 2014.

DreamWorks' animated adventure comedy scooped up $5.5 million on Friday and will end the three day period with a total take of $21 million.



“300: Rise of an Empire” Tops Weekend Box Office

Everybody loves a good ancient war epic, and “300: Rise of an Empire” nabbed the highest number of tickets sold with $45 million in earnings.

Warner Bros honcho Jeff Goldstein told press, "This far exceeded our expectations. We were thinking, if we can get to $100 million (total box office), we'd be in a good place. Clearly we captured a much broader audience than we anticipated.”
