Box Office: "Noah" Floods Out the Competition
Despite some pre-release controversy, "Noah" is making big waves at the box office for the weekend of March 28-30, 2014.
The Russell Crowe fronted action film, which is based on Genesis, scored an opening day of $15 million and will wind up with an impressive three day take of $45 million.
After spending last week on top, the sci-fi flick "Divergent" is headed toward a second place finish. Starring Shailene Woodley, the motion picture added $8.3 million to its tally on Friday, and nabbed a $27 million weekend.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the adventure comedy "Muppets Most Wanted" ($11.9 million) in third, Dreamworks' animated adventure "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" ($9.6 million) in fourth and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" ($9 million) in fifth.
