Box Office: "Fast & Furious 6" Cruises to the Top for Second Week
Even with two new highly-anticipated movies arriving in theaters, "Fast & Furious 6" easily grabbed top honors at the box office for the weekend of May 31-June 2, 2013.
The Vin Diesel-fronted action flick was again strong out of the gate on Friday, scooping up $10.5 million, and ended up with a $34 million three-day total.
Sliding in to second spot was the newly-released "Now You See Me," starring Isla Fisher and Jesse Eisenberg. The crime thriller garnered $10 million for the first night of the weekend, and grabbed a total take of $27.5 million.
Rounding out the top five in estimated earnings are the Will and Jaden Smith action flick "After Earth" in third ($26.5 million), the Blue Sky/Fox animated "Epic" ($16 million) in fourth, and the sci-fi film "Star Trek Into Darkness" ($15.2 million) in fifth.
