“The Monuments Men” Cast Charms French Fans at Paris Photocall
They’re quite an ensemble of handsome gentlemen and earlier today (February 12) the cast of “The Monuments Men” showed up at a photocall in Paris, France.
George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean DuJardin, John Goodman and real Monument Man Harry Hettlinger all posed for the photographers at the Hotel Le Bristol and had a few laughs along the way.
Damon told press he thoroughly enjoyed working with Clooney as his director given their personal friendship and professional history.
“It's actually much easier to be directed by a friend. When you're partnered with somebody who’s a friend you cut out all of the diplomacy which really wastes a lot of time. There's a whole way you're supposed to speak to each other on film sets or in theatre, and it's all about protecting people's egos. And when you're working with your friend they just say, ‘That sucked!’ There's a baseline of trust that never comes into question, and you solve the problems a lot quicker.”
As for George’s claim that he was a diva during the filming process, Matt joked, “I was a diva, it's true. I was uncontrollable, I threw raging temper tantrums and I smashed more than one trailer ... It was really hard for George to work with me, I just have these photographs of him from a long time ago, so he keeps putting me in his movies.”
