Announcing new ways to fight childhood obesity, Michelle Obama joined elected officials across the country to promote her "Let's Move" campaign in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania earlier this week.

Before cutting a ribbon with the help of some children, the First Lady gave a short speech encouraging everyone to step up and get involved in the comprehensive initiative she launched in February of 2010 to help shape healthier generations.

“Every day, local officials like these are changing our children’s lives and helping them learn and grow and fulfill every last bit of their potential," Michelle said, adding, "And thanks to the commitments we’re announcing today, our cities, towns and counties will be able to do even more."

Of those commitments, the mayor of Pennsylvania has vowed to remove junk food from classrooms, install new bicycle lanes and have 10 new farmer's markets open in low-income communities throughout the state.

Although several other officials also agreed to make changes in their states and communities, Mrs. Obama admitted, "We still have a long way to go to solve this problem. But if leaders like these keep coming to the table and we all keep working together, then I am confident that we can give all our children the happy, healthy futures they so richly deserve.”
