The “Butterscotch Stallion” actor has announced that he will not be filming his role in the upcoming Ben Stiller film Tropic Thunder. The DreamWorks comedy has been filming for six weeks in Hawaii, and Wilson was due on the set in two or three weeks to film his scenes.

He’s made us laugh out loud in films such as Wedding Crashers and You Me and Dupree. But yesterday was quite a different situation for actor Owen Wilson.

According to preliminary reports, the Shanghai Noon actor attempted to take his own life by means of slitting his wrist and overdosing on pills. The Santa Monica Police Department issued a statement yesterday saying that they made a joint response with fire department paramedics to a medical aid call at Owen’s house.

Apparently, it may have had something to do with Owen’s lack of time for Kate. "She said that if he didn't step up and make time for her, then she was over it," reports a source. "A few days after that, she broke up with him over the phone."
