Ludacris Set to Host Sunday's Billboard Music Awards
Gearing up for the weekend's festivities, the Billboard Music Awards announced at Ludacris is taking over the mic to host the star-studded event on Sunday (May 18).
His resume speaks for itself, as the Atlanta-born rapper owns 18 Hot 100 top 10 singles, which is the third-most of any hip-hop musician. He's also produced five number one albums on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and 29 top 10 singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
While most awards shows determine their winners from a voting panel, the Billboard folks strictly use year-end chart performance figures from Nielsen including sales, number of downloads and total airplay.
Hopefuls for the Top Hot 100 Song include Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive,” Lorde’s “Royals,” Katy Perry’s “Roar” and Robin Thicke featuring T.I. & Pharrell’s “Blurred Lines.”
