Out to pay homage to some of Stephan Weiss’ never-before-seen work, Lucy Liu attended the “Connecting the Dots” book launch & exhibition opening at Donna Karan’s Urban Zen Center in New York City on Wednesday (October 17).

The “Charlie’s Angels” beauty looked stylish in an all-black ensemble, as she posed for a few photographs along with fellow guests including models Peter Nemcova and Behati Prinsloo.

The exhibit, which is being opened by Weiss’ former wife Donna Karan, will feature sculptures, drawings, and paintings from the artist, who passed back in 2001 from lung cancer.

In an interview with Elle magazine, Donna opened up about the meaning behind the title of her late husband’s newest show, saying, “First I didn't understand it; Stephan put dots on a piece of paper and whatever happened, happened. That's how his sculptures and art were created. But I think connecting the dots has a much larger reason, in life we connect our dots to family, business, the world. For me, by connecting the dots, you find a whole. Sometimes we're not aware of what that dot represents, but then one dot, one moment, leads to another.”
