"Lone Survivor" Storms the Box Office to Win the Weekend
Folks looking to get out of the house after being stuck inside most of the week due to the cold and snow flocked to the box office over the weekend, put "Lone Survivor" on top for January 10-12, 2103.
The new Mark Wahlberg drama about the failed Operation Red Wings scored $13.5 million on Friday and scored a three day total of $38.5 million.
After spending last week at number one, Disney Animation's adventure comedy "Frozen" finished up Friday with $3 million and nabbed a weekend total of $14.6 million.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the Leonardo DiCaprio crime comedy "The Wolf of Wall Street" ($8.8 million) in third, the action adventure flick "The Legend of Hercules" ($8.6 million) in fourth and David O. Russell's crime drama "American Hustle" ($8.5 million) in fifth.
