The “Little Miss Sunshine” actress hammed it up for the paparazzi before continuing on her way to Barney’s Fifth Avenue for some shopping with her mother.

When most girls join the Girl Scouts of the USA there aren’t paparazzi and reporters at the ceremony. But Abigail Breslin isn’t most girls.

The “Little Miss Sunshine” star was inducted into the Girl Scouts of the USA last night at the Zanuck Theater at the 20th Century Fox Lot in Century City, California.

GLAAD Awards Toast Sunshine, Betty and Aniston

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) presented the initial installment of their annual awards in LA on Saturday night. The big winners included "Little Miss Sunshine," "Ugly Betty," and Jennifer Aniston.

During the ceremony, GLAAD handed out five of its 42 annual awards, with the rest being presented April 28th in San Francisco and May 10th in Florida.

At the star-studded Academy Awards on Sunday, Martin Scorsese's mob epic "The Departed" won best picture, earning the filmmaker the directing prize that had eluded him throughout his illustrious career.

"Could you double-check the envelope?" said Scorsese, who had been referred to as the greatest living American filmmaker without an Oscar. He also had never delivered a best-picture winner before, despite crafting such modern masterpieces as "Raging Bull" and "Goodfellas."

79th Academy Awards Show Preview

The preparation complete and activities underway, Hollywood is ready to celebrate film with the 79th Academy Awards ceremony.

About 3,400 guests will start arriving at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre from 2:00 PST on, where they will be greeted by a bombardment of camera flashes from photographers shooting the world's most star-studded fashion show.

Sunshine Big Winner At Spirit Awards

In a possible Academy indication, 'Little Miss Sunshine' won four Independent Spirit Awards, including best feature, in ceremonies Saturday February 24, in Santa Monica, California.

Founded in 1984, the awards were originally known as the FINDIE ("Friends of Independents") Awards. In 1986, the awards were renamed the Independent Spirit Awards.

In addition to the top feature prize, 'Sunshine' also won a directing award for Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, a first-screenplay prize for Michael Arndt and a supporting actor trophy for Alan Arkin.

This year is the 79th Annual Academy Awards (Feb. 25th), or more commonly known as the Oscars. Big winners from previous award shows (Babel, Dreamgirls, Departed, and Little Miss Sunshine) are expected to do well, and some late arrivals (Blood Diamond and Notes on a Scandal) just might sneak away with a couple awards.
