Daniel Day-Lewis & Steven Spielberg Take “Lincoln” to NYC
It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and TIME Magazine held a special screening/Q&A for “Lincoln” in New York City last night (October 25).
Daniel Day-Lewis was joined by director Steven Spielberg and writer Tony Kushner at the exclusive event, and all three gentlemen had a great time answering questions.
In a recent interview with TIME, Daniel discussed the complexities and pressure that came with playing the historic President Abraham Lincoln.
He confessed, “It didn't occur to me that it was possible to breathe life into Abraham Lincoln. I felt so shy around him. The minute you begin to approach him—and there are vast corridors that have been carved that lead you to an understanding of that man’s life, both through the great riches of his own writing and all the contemporary accounts and biographies—he feels immediately and surprisingly accessible. He draws you closer to him.”
