Lily Allen Regrets Turning Down $100 Million Bitcoin Performance
She’s made many wise choices along her road to success, but Lily Allen really wishes she could have a mulligan for a bad call she made in 2009.
The “Smile” songstress tweeted about a time she was offered payment in Bitcoins to perform on the Second Life website, and she ended up turning it down.
Lily wrote, “About 5 years ago someone asked me to stream a gig live on second life for hundreds of thousNds of bitcoins, ‘as if’ I said. #idiot #idiot.”
According to current exchange rates, Allen’s take would have exceeded $100 million, given that Bitcoin has skyrocketed in value.
In career news, Lily has accepted a gig at Glastonbury in 2014- she gushed, “It got confirmed yesterday. That’s the first big thing I’m going to be doing. I’ll be doing 16 weeks of festivals over the summer and then tour.”
