Gearing up for the release on Christmas Day, the stars of "Les Misérables" attended the New York film premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Monday (December 10).

The 2012 remake of the Broadway classic follows the story of 19th-century France's Jean Valjean, who for decades has been hunted by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole, and agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's daughter, Cosette. The fateful decision changes their lives forever.

On hand to celebrate the Big Apple screening were cast members Anne Hathaway , Hugh Jackman , Russell Crowe , Amanda Seyfried , Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

As awards season kicks off, the Tom Hooper-directed adaptation just nabbed 10 nominations for the International Press Academy's Satellite Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman, and Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.
