Lauren Conrad to Allure: I'm Not a Basic B**ch!
Don’t mess with Lauren Conrad! The bride-to-be proved that she’s got her eye on every publication Monday (July 21), while calling out Allure magazine for calling her basic.
Taking to Twitter, the 28-year-old businesswoman noted the mag’s “Typecasting” page under its Beauty & the Beat section, showing four celebs and their fashion personalities.
Among LC were fellow beauties including Vanessa Hudgens who was titled the “Bohemian Hippie” and Men Repeller’s Leandra Medine as the “Street Stylist.” That left Lauren as the unflattering “Basic” chick.
In addition to the title, Allure wrote, “Basic: Made famous by Kreayshawn, and viral by YouTube, the Basic woman is remarkably unremarkable. What's noteworthy about her style is its very plainness. Except to her. She swears those red-soled shoes are cutting-edge."
The mag’s editors are referring to Kreayshawn's single “Gucci Gucci,” which raps about “basic b*tches.”
Needless to say, Conrad wasn’t having it. "I definitely just got called a basic b*tch!" she tweeted. "Haha! Sausage curls!? Really @Allure_magazine?"
