Cillian Murphy Says Cell Phones Have 'Destroyed Storytelling'

Cillian Murphy has blamed cell phones for destroying storytelling.

The 40-year-old actor stars in upcoming shootout thriller 'Free Fire' which is set in Boston in 1978 and he insists the decade which features was an important factor in him signing up for Ben Wheatley's action film because modern movies of the same ilk have to give technology too much prominence.

In an interview with the Metro newspaper, he explained: "Cell phones have destroyed storytelling - you have to write in that his batteries failed or cut in a line saying, 'No signal! What's happening?'"

Kanye West has silenced speculation he is joining 'American Idol'.

The 39-year-old rapper has been at the forefront of rumours claiming he will be joining the revamped reboot of the popular American talent contest, however, the musician has revealed there has been "no conversation" about him helming the programme or appearing as a judge.

Speaking about the venture, a source close to the 'Famous' hitmaker told TMZ: "There is no conversation with Kanye West to join 'American Idol' or any other show for that matter."

Mariah Carey has been celebrating her birthday on a tropical getaway with Bryan Tanaka.

The 'Without You' hitmaker celebrated her 47th birthday - or anniversary as she calls it - in style on Monday (27.03.17) as she took to the warm sands of a tropical beach resort with her boyfriend and dancer Bryan.

Posting a picture of the pair relaxing in the sun, Bryan wrote on Instagram: "Starting the anniversary festivities in a relaxing chic environment. #HappyAnniversary (sic)"

Adele is unsure if she will ever tour again.

The 28-year-old star is currently on a lengthy world tour but admitted it could be the last time she hits the road to perform.

According to the New Zealand Herald, she told fans at her concert at Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium: "Touring isn't something I'm good at - applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don't know if I will ever tour again.

"The only reason I've toured is you. I'm not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour."
