Lady Gaga Disses Katy Perry & Teases Another Artpop Album During SXSW Keynote Speech
She’s been a huge part of the 2014 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas and this morning (March 14) Lady Gaga showed up to give the keynote speech.
Given the strange vomit spectacle during her performance at Stubb’s last night (March 13), the “You and I” songstress offered an explanation.
"I've known Millie [Brown] for I think like five years now and we've actually collaborated before…she was just in town and so we thought we would collaborate again. It was just exciting to see people talk about performance art on the internet. We really just did it because we believe in the performance and we believe in what it meant to the song."
As for the success of her latest album Artpop, Gaga noted, "I'm very proud…I'm held to such an insane standard and it's almost like everybody forgets where the music business is now.”
Meanwhile, Mother Monster didn’t appreciate being compared to Katy Perry when they both had singles drop on the same day last year- "I don't know what the f--k I have to do with Katy Perry. My music is so completely different and I couldn't be more different."
Finally, Gaga discussed what’s next for her- "I have a whole second act of Artpop.”
