Celebrities React to the Zimmerman Verdict

After over sixteen hours of deliberations, the six-woman jury reached a verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman on Saturday (July 13). Reactions on Twitter poured in as many celebs expressed their support for Trayvon Martin.

Upset with the outcome, John Legend tweeted, "My heart hurts," while Rihanna posted, "This is the saddest news ever!!! #whatsjustice #pray4theMartinFamily."

"Girls" creator and star Lena Dunham expressed, "No. My heart is with Sybrina Fulton, Rachel Jeantel, everyone who loved Trayvon and has been sent the message that his life didn't matter."

Outraged, Questlove tweeted, "Onstage right now.......pissed" as Nicki Minaj griped, "And our taxes paid for that trial. We just paid to see a murderer walk free after killing an innocent unarmed little boy. #GodBlessAmerica."

Urging movement, Olivia Wilde shared, "This has to be a call to action. We must participate in the political process and demand the justice system we ALL deserve" as Russell Simmons posted, "I know many people are very upset about the verdict, but we must remain peaceful.
